A Cretan Moppet!

This is the tale of a Cretan "Moppet"

One cold, drizzly, February evening, Fred and June were alerted to an intruder by their faithful friend "Mavro"

They went outside to see what was up and found what they thought at first was a hedgehog going round and round in circles. On closer inspection they discovered it was a tiny puppy only a few weeks old, which had been tossed onto their drive. The gate was closed so the puppy could not have wandered in by itself. They picked up the puppy who was cold, hungry and dirty, dried it off a little and fed it on some soft cat food and popped it in a cat box ( as it was late at night) to keep it warm and safe until they could take it to the vet the next morning.

"Mavro" watched over it.
In the morning, having had a closer look, they discovered that the little thing had only three legs. One hind leg was missing. No idea why. They took to the vet, who said that it may have been born like that or it may have been nibbled off by a rodent! It had clearly been abandoned. They took the puppy home, cared for it and named it "Suki"

Suki thrived - and so did her fur!

After a while they took Suki to be groomed and coiffed

Yes! the same dog!
They noticed that around her back quarter was a scar running right around her body. The presumption was that perhaps she had been caught in a trap as a pup - hence the missing limb.

These days Suki rules the roost

Apart  from Simba

Every few months she visits her 'coiffeur'….

…..and comes home neat and tidy.

She is often known as "Licky Loo" as her favourite pastime is licking people ….

….oh and licking  Mavro's nose too…

She doesn't miss her absent leg and manages to keep pace with Mavro - even though he is six times her size!
Ps these are recent photos not ones of her as a puppy - she is currently asleep on the back of the sofa.
