Kalamaki is a pretty little seaside village about 20 minutes along the coast from Matala. The glorious beach is lined with little cafes and tavernas. We stopped at a taverna with pristine white tables and chairs called Sunset. I noticed that they were advertising an evening of local Cretan music in a few days time. We sat and enjoyed the view as we decided what to order for lunch.
How about a delicious tuna salad/dip, tuna, mayo, carrot, lettuce with fresh crusty bread?
Salad with salad leaves, different cheeses, nuts, balsamic and oranges
Spestofai made with chorizo
Perhaps you prefer a traditional Greek salad with Feta and Glistrida ( Purslane to you and me)
How about crisply fried baby calamares and tsatsiki?

Homemade walnut cake with vanilla ice-cream
And of course finishing off with the ubiquitous Tsigoudia (Raki)
An ideal spot to sit, relax and test the Tsigouthia
