Rosewater from the garden

If you have beautifully scented roses in the garden it seems a shame not to use them.

It is easy to make your own Rosewater

Useful as a facial refresher

Add it to your bath

Spray on your clothes for ironing

First choose some fragrant roses

Doesn't matter what colour

Put the petals into a bowl

Pour over boiling distilled water

The amount just to cover the petals

Leave in the sun for about 3 days.

Alternatively you can put them in a pan, just cover with cold distilled water and simmer for 20 - 30 minutes until they have lost their colour.

Strain and store in a glass jar.
For facial toner dilute 1 part rosewater to 4 parts distilled water and put in a spray bottle. This can be used as a face toner or just as a refresher during the day.
