Recipe of the week - Red cabbage and Apple

 There are many recipes for red cabbage and apple. This one is the Cretan version!

Adjust amounts to your requirements and taste!


Chop a large onion ( or two!) salute gently in a tablespoonful of olive oil
Add chopped red cabbage and stir well 
Slice a sweet apple and add to the mix.
Sauté together for a little add a little salt and pepper


Add one tablespoonful of honey
(Other recipes suggest black treacle or brown sugar)
Add a small glass of red wine - local village red is ideal-
Stir together, cover and simmer until the cabbage is tender
