Goosey Goosey Gander

… whither shall you wander? … How about Vrysses they say!
The geese on the river in Vrysses give hours of pleasure to locals and tourists alike who watch as the geese enjoy the fountains and the little water that remains in the river.

The river bed is completely dry

There was very little water in the river this winter

Coffee break

Fortunately the fountains run on a circulating loop from a small reservoir tucked away by the side of the river

The trees give dappled shade and coolness to those enjoying coffee in the cafeterias by the river

Looking for tasty morsels

Playtime

The other side of the bridge, the river is completely dry, as it was all winter except for about one week.

Pied Beauty
Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844–89)

GLORY be to God for dappled things—
  For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
    For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
  Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough;
    And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.

All things counter, original, spare, strange;
  Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
    With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
                  Praise him.
