Nothing better at the end of a hot and tiring day on the island of Crete than to hit the beach just as everyone else is leaving.
Armed with picnic basket, rug, umbrellas we settled down
Salad of rocket, tomatoes, spring onions, nectarines and Brie. Tasty sandwiches on nutty bread including smoked salami, smoked salmon and smoked turkey! (You see a theme?) followed by juicy cherries.
The sea was too rough for a dip and the red flags were flying
The sun began to sink behind the mountains
Then it was time to go, refreshed and happy.
