Armenoi Minoan Graves

A visit yesterday to the late Minoan Graves at Armenoi ( Rethymnon)

It is amazing - more than 200 family graves

Some are very plain and some much larger. Average age of death was 20 -25 years for women and 30- ish for men!

I is a beautiful and peaceful place

Shades of Indiana Jones!

The artefacts that were found are in the Archaeological museum in Rethymnon

Amazing to think that this Civilisation was building tombs and living nearby more than 3000 years ago!
